Music Theory III

The third course in the four-semester music theory sequence, Music Theory III delves deeper into harmonic progression and voice leading. Topics include advanced diatonic harmony, chromaticism, secondary dominants, secondary leading-tone chords, modulation, altered chords, and expanded forms of voice leading. Students will apply analytical and compositional techniques to more complex musical contexts, preparing for higher- level harmonic analysis and voice-leading practices.
