Active use of the language in conversation, writing, reading and projects at the high intermediate level, as defined by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, in a Spanish-speaking country; participation in academic and cultural activities of a host university or study abroad institute/center. Only one of the following will satisfy the requirements for a degree: SPAN 202, SPAN 218, or SPAN 222.
