This course will examine professional skills needed in the workplace. Business Skills Development focuses on development of business communication and etiquette skills, diversity awareness, and awareness of resources for career development. This course will examine professional skills needed in the workplace. Emphasis will be placed on each of the five individual soft skills (communication, enthusiasm/attitude, teamwork, networking, and problem-solving/critical thinking) within a broad framework. The course encourages professionalism, which may look slightly different in various settings although its core elements are always the same. Business Skills Development may be offered as a component of a course rotation allowing students to explore different areas of interest. All content standards must be addressed regardless of the duration of the course. The depth of the content standards will be determined by the course duration.
