Child Services prepares students for careers as child services professionals. Topics covered in this course include child growth and development, community support services, family and community relationships, advocacy, professionalism and ethics, health and safety, and management. Standards in this course are designed to equip students with a deeper understanding of the role of child services professionals. Career and Technical Student Organizations are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and access opportunities for personal and professional growth. Students in the Human Services cluster affiliate with Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
