Exploring Information Technology Careers is an exploratory course designed to introduce students to pathways in the Information Technology Cluster and to careers in the information technology field. Students will explore foundational concepts, terminology, and skills needed to choose and progress in an IT field. This course is most effective in a project-based environment.

Exploring Information Technology Careers is an exploratory course designed to introduce students to pathways in the Information Technology Cluster and to careers in the information technology field. Students will explore foundational concepts, terminology, and skills needed to choose and progress in an IT field. This course is most effective in a project-based environment. Exploring Information Technology Careers may be offered as a component of a course rotation allowing students to explore different areas of interest. All content standards must be addressed regardless of the duration of the course. The depth of the content standards will be determined by the course duration. Career and Technical Student Organizations are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace readiness skills, and access opportunities for personal and professional growth. Students in the Information Technology cluster affiliate with SkillsUSA and/or TSA.
