Programming Foundations

Programming Foundations focuses on the fundamentals of computer programming with an emphasis on computational thinking and problem- solving. Students will create authentic artifacts and engage with programming as a medium for creativity, communication, problem-solving, and fun. Students will be expected to develop logical thinking skills that pertain to programming. This course extends the standards of the Alabama Course of Study: Digital Literacy and Computer Science.

Programming Foundations focuses on the fundamentals of computer programming with an emphasis on computational thinking and problem- solving. Students will create authentic artifacts and engage with programming as a medium for creativity, communication, problem-solving, and fun. Students will be expected to develop logical thinking skills that pertain to programming. This course extends the standards of the Alabama Course of Study: Digital Literacy and Computer Science. Career and Technical Student Organizations are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations enhance classroom instruction while helping students to develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and access opportunities for personal and professional growth. Students in the Information Technology cluster affiliate with SkillsUSA and/or TSA.
