All history majors should demonstrate the capacity for critical reading and thinking, to do research in scholarly secondary and primary sources, and to present ideas in written and oral form. All history courses are writing intensive and involve individual and group work as well as oral presentations. The chief goal of the history major is always to achieve a sound broad liberal education.
