The History major requires a 33-hour core and nine hours of electives, and culminates in History 400, a senior research seminar in which students select a topic, research mostly in primary sources, and write and present a substantial paper. Majors planning graduate study in history are encouraged to add work in languages, the humanities, and the social sciences.
