The English major in the Department of English and Foreign Languages offers four concentrations - Arts, Creative Writing, Film Studies, and Secondary Education - each lending itself to a number of career options. The department offers a wide range of courses in literature, composition, creative writing, linguistics, and cultural studies. English majors must earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and a grade of 'C' or better in English 101-102 and all subsequent major courses.
