The Certified Venue Executive (CVE) designation is the pinnacle of global recognition for venue professionals. More than a credential, it signals that an individual has reached the highest standard of leadership, strategic insight, and operational excellence in the management of venues. CVEs are not only masters of complex venue environments, they are also industry stewards, committed to innovation, ethical leadership, and lifelong learning. The 4 Steps to CVE Certification: Step 1 – Apply Applicants must confirm five (5) years of industry experience at the top two levels of an organization, and a minimum of 275 points representing education, experience, continuing education, publications, and professional/community involvement. Step 2 – Multiple Choice Exam A multiple choice exam encompassing the full range of skills, knowledge, and attributes found in the core competencies and management concepts of public assembly venues. Step 3 – Written Exam Written essay questions where candidates expand on their experience, knowledge, and understanding of the core competencies of public assembly venue management. Step 4 – Oral Exam An interview-style meeting with a panel of industry peers, where the candidate showcases their understanding on a series of core industry topics.
