The Department of English and Foreign Language offers English curricula appropriate to the needs of students in the twenty-first century, aiming to produce students who are aware of all cultures, especially African-American culture, and who are academically and philosophically prepared to pursue graduate studies and careers in the global marketplace. The department trains students in the skills necessary to become perceptive readers, critical thinkers, and effective writers and speakers.
