The objective is to give entry-level technicians a basic understanding of asphalt paving projects with limited coverage specifications, calculations, and best practices for quality pavements. Topics covered include: Basic road construction safety, plan reading Asphalt paving best practices Importance of density Identification and causes of segregation Use of nuclear (or non-nuclear) density gauge Completion of the Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite.
