Detailed information about this program
3M and the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) recognize the importance of early education in fall protection. Each year, numerous workers suffer the traumatic effects of a fall from height. Workers need to understand these dangers and the options available to help mitigate this hazard. This educational program is intended for students enrolled in skilled trade programs. The goal is to increase their knowledge of (1) fall protection principles (2) common fall protection systems and (3) common fall protection personal protective equipment (PPE) they may use to help them do their jobs safely. In addition to the general principles of working safely at height, this one-day course includes content on common fall protection systems, providing knowledge on selection, set-up, and usage. Combined with the theory portions of the course, students will complete practical skills development sessions on pre-use equipment inspection and harness donning. The training concludes with system selection exercises, followed by a theory test. This training meets the requirements of both OSHA and ANSI Z359.2 for an authorized person training.
