Welding and Cutting
Southwest Mississippi Community College
The Welding and Cutting Technology program prepares students for entry level employment in the field of welding and cutting. The curriculum includes Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Carbon Arc Cutting, Oxyfuel Cutting, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). One major goal of this program is to prepare graduates to complete NCCER Core Curriculum, NCCER Level 1 and 2, or AWS Sense Level 1.
